SSL Certificates & HTTPS

HTTPS is provisioned automatically for every custom domain. Here is what to expect and what to do if the padlock does not appear.

Automatic provisioning

You do not upload or buy a certificate. As soon as your domain passes Check DNS, Short10 requests a certificate for it and installs it. The domain status on Dashboard → Domains shows pending while this happens and active once HTTPS is live. Provisioning usually completes within minutes but can take up to an hour.

Renewals

Certificates are renewed automatically before they expire. Nothing to schedule — just keep the DNS record in place. Removing or changing the record will eventually break renewal.

HTTP to HTTPS

Links typed or printed with http:// are redirected to https:// on the branded domain, so older material keeps working.

Troubleshooting

1. Confirm the domain is active, not pending. SSL cannot be issued until DNS verifies.
2. If you use Cloudflare, make sure the record is DNS only (grey cloud). A proxied record blocks certificate issuance.
3. Wait the full hour after verification, then reload in a private window to bypass your browser cache.
4. Still no padlock? Click Check DNS once more and, if the problem persists, contact support with the domain name.
