DNS Configuration Guide
Exactly which DNS records to create for a subdomain or apex domain, plus the mistakes that most often keep verification pending.
Which record do I need?

Leave TTL at the default. Do not create both an A and a CNAME for the same name.
Cloudflare users
Set the proxy status of the record to DNS only (grey cloud), not Proxied (orange cloud). A proxied record hides the real target, so verification fails and the SSL certificate cannot be issued. You can keep the rest of your zone proxied; only the Short10 record needs to be grey.
Verifying
- Save the record at your DNS provider.
- Wait a few minutes, then open Dashboard → Domains and click Check DNS.
- When the record resolves, the status becomes active and SSL provisioning starts automatically.
If it stays pending
- Old record in the way — delete any existing A, AAAA or CNAME for the same name.
- Wrong host — some providers want just
go, others the fullgo.yourbrand.com; do not end up withgo.yourbrand.com.yourbrand.com. - Proxy on — Cloudflare orange cloud, or a similar proxy/CDN at another provider.
- Propagation — check with an online DNS lookup tool that the record is visible worldwide, then click Check DNS again.
