Custom OpenGraph (Social Preview)
Choose the title, description and image that appear when your short link is shared on social networks and chat apps.
Why customise the preview
Facebook, LinkedIn, X, WhatsApp, Slack and others build the link card from OpenGraph tags. By default Short10 shows the destination page's own tags. With custom OpenGraph you can write your own headline, pick a sharper image, or add a preview to a destination that has none.
Setting it up
- Create or edit a link and open the Social preview (OpenGraph) section.
- Click Fetch to pull the current title, description and image from the destination as a starting point.
- Edit the OG title, OG description and OG image URL as you like.
- Check the live preview card and save.
Image guidelines
- Use a publicly reachable HTTPS image URL.
- 1200 × 630 pixels is the safe size for large cards on most networks.
- Keep text inside the middle of the image; some apps crop to a square.
Refreshing a stale preview
Networks cache previews. After changing OG fields, re-scrape with the platform's debugger (Facebook Sharing Debugger, LinkedIn Post Inspector, X Card Validator) or share the link with a harmless query string added.
Custom OpenGraph requires the Pro plan or higher. Combined with a custom domain, shared cards show your brand end to end.
