Link Expiration & Click Limits

Control when a link starts working, when it stops, and how many clicks it may receive.

All three controls live in the options section of the link create and edit pages. You can combine them freely.

Schedule a start date

Set a start date and the short link stays inactive until that moment. Handy for launch announcements printed in advance.

Expiry date and expired URL

  1. Turn on Expiry and pick the date and time.
  2. Optionally enter an expired URL. After the deadline visitors are redirected there instead of the original destination.
  3. If you leave the expired URL empty, visitors see a branded “this link has expired” page.

Click limit

Set a maximum number of clicks. Once it is reached the link behaves exactly like an expired one. The counter is updated atomically, so a burst of simultaneous clicks can never push you past the limit — useful for “first 100 people” offers.

Reviving a link

Nothing is deleted when a link expires. Edit it, move the expiry date forward or raise the click limit, and it works again immediately. Analytics collected before expiry stay attached to the link.

Tip: point the expired URL at an evergreen page (your homepage, a “sale ended, join the waitlist” page) so old posts and printed QR codes keep sending visitors somewhere useful.
